Welcome to Marian's Dream
Our Mission: We create and support programs to end pet overpopulation by preventing unwanted litters.
Since 1981, with the support of people like you, we have led initiatives to improve the health and well-being of companion animals.
We have always believed in leading the way to change. We know that change is made on the ground, with the hard work of grass-roots organizations and volunteers. For everyone who has adopted a stray cat, who has volunteered at a spay/neuter clinic or who has donated money: THANK YOU.
Our Major Programs:
• Beat the Heat: There are simply too many cats and dogs who need homes and not enough homes. Every spring we see notices from rescue and spay/neuter groups about "kitten season." With one simple change — FIXING BEFORE FIVE MONTHS — we can come close to eliminating all of the unplanned and unwanted litters.
• The Cats CAN: The Cats Action Network is a new program dedicated to raising the status of cats and promoting their welfare. As the economy has worsened over the past decade, the stress has been especially hard on cats. Those cats with homes, who previously obtained regular veterinary care, no longer receive the veterinary attention necessary to keep them healthy. If a cat goes into the shelter system, odds are she or he will never come out.
